Waste Connections is the premier provider of solid waste collection, transfer, recycling and disposal services, along with recycling and resource recovery.
In the U.S, 292.4 million tons of solid waste was generated in 2018, out of which only 25 million
tons were adequately disposed of. With the percentage of waste material increasing, the demand for
an efficient, agile, and modern waste management solution has increased as well.
The unimaginable amount of waste produced daily in the U.S (4.9 pounds per person per day) is
perhaps the biggest reason for pollution and other critical health-related problems. Therefore, to
modernize and reinvigorate the waste management industry was Waste Connection’s motivation to get an
app designed for the waste management market to help the world go to zero waste.
Waste Connections decided to leverage modern technologies to solve one of the world’s biggest
problems, ‘waste and garbage disposal.’
The app was intended to be an end-to-end digital platform that served as a database. The app also
offered other features to the internal teams of Waste Connections, i.e., helping the drivers
efficiently plan their routes for optimal trash collection and relocation to the nearest transfer
stations.
They partnered with Tekrevol to help them create an app that simplifies waste management by
harnessing the power of modern technologies.
Waste Connections and Tekrevol realized that the current status of waste management is poor because
industry processes and practices were outdated.
Therefore, a proper medium that fostered an efficient way of waste collection to disposal was
required. The only way to achieve such a medium was by harnessing the latest technologies to create
an all-in-one solution for the industry.
In a nutshell, the app was intended to be a strategic way of ensuring that waste management is
carried out effectively. Here’s what we believed was missing in the waste management industry:
We designed and integrated a dashboard to the app that encapsulated the complete analytics and
process of waste that runs in the entire city. A database was also built and integrated into the app
to organize, record, and safely store all data sent by users and gathered by the
organization.
The app also had features that enhanced the collaboration of the internal teams of Waste Connections
enabling them to play an integral role in the overall waste management and collection process. This
ensured an efficient waste management progression centered around accountability, precision, and
agility.
We integrated the most revolutionary, quality-oriented, and multi-platform supporting technology to ensure the app’s viability in the present and the future.

adequate awareness With the help of an app, Waste Connections managed to eliminate manual monitoring
of data while ensuring internal staff’s performance.
The app also minimized the necessity of accessing various management reports by enabling the admin
and users to seamlessly check the real-time results of their company and the daily performance of
the collection team.
